Syd and Genny: The Heiresses of Adventure

Syd and Genny are two adventurous young women with a limitless trust fund, an endless supply of curiosity, and very little ability to stay out of trouble. Syd and Genny don’t get into trouble because they’re reckless or mean-spirited. They get into trouble because they’re curious. They see a locked door and wonder what’s behind it. They hear a rumor and decide to investigate. They spot an opportunity for adventure and simply can’t resist. Most of the time their hearts are in the right place, but their curiosity tends to outrun their common sense. Whenever they see an opportunity for adventure, they’re usually halfway around the world before anyone can talk them out of it.

Syd and Genny grew up together, though neither remembers exactly when their friendship began. By the time they were old enough to form memories, the other was already there. They were less like friends and more like sisters, twin sisters.

Their families were connected through a vast family trust established generations earlier by a wealthy and eccentric ancestor who believed that life was meant to be experienced, not merely observed. His fortune grew over the decades through investments, businesses, and a little luck, eventually becoming so large that neither girl would ever need to worry about money.

The trust came with only one expectation:

Live boldly.

When Syd and Genny reached adulthood, they were granted access to the trust’s resources. There were no spending limits, no strict rules, and no requirements to work. The founder believed that freedom was the greatest gift he could leave behind. The responsibility for managing the fortune fell to Mr. Oliver, known affectionately as Ollie, who had served the family for years. While technically their trustee, he became something far more important … a mentor, protector, and trusted friend. Separately, they can be mischievous. Together, they can be unstoppable.

Over the years they’ve explored forgotten ruins, followed treasure maps, investigated strange rumors, chased legends, and found themselves in situations that most people would consider impossible. What keeps them going isn’t the money. It’s their shared belief that the world is full of mysteries waiting to be discovered. Always together, always watching out for each other. No matter how far they travel or how much trouble they find, one thing remains constant: At some point during every adventure, one of them says, “Do you think Ollie is going to be upset?” And the answer is almost always: “Probably.” Then they continue anyway.
